Terms of service
Last updated: 23 October 2026
About these terms
These terms apply when you or your company use EventsLake: the dashboard at app.eventslake.com, our API, our scripts and the integrations with other tools. By creating an account or using EventsLake, you agree to them on behalf of your company.
If you have a signed agreement with us, that agreement wins where it differs from these terms.
What EventsLake does
EventsLake collects the events you send it (from your websites, apps, servers and connected tools), stores them, and helps you understand them: questions in plain words, analytics, predictions, segments, alerts, and sending data to the tools you choose.
We keep improving EventsLake. Features can change. When we remove something you rely on, we tell you in advance.
Your account
You give correct information when you sign up, and keep your login safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, also by the people you invite and the keys you create.
Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else used your account or a key.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You decide what you send to EventsLake, and you can export or delete it at any time.
For personal data about your visitors and customers, you are the controller and we are your processor. We only process it to run EventsLake for you, as described in our privacy policy and our data processing agreement, which is part of these terms.
You make sure you are allowed to send us that data: you inform people in your own privacy policy, ask for consent where the law requires it, and respect their choices. EventsLake helps with consent settings and with removing a person everywhere.
Don't send us passwords, payment card numbers, health data or other special categories of personal data unless we agreed to it in writing.
Connected tools
When you connect a tool like Google, Meta, Stripe or Shopify, you allow EventsLake to read from it or send to it, as shown when you connect it. You can disconnect it at any time: EventsLake then deletes the login it holds for that tool.
Those tools have their own terms, which also apply to how you use them. We are not responsible for what they do with the data you choose to send them.
Fair use
Use EventsLake for your own business and within the law. Don't use it to send spam, to track people without a legal basis, to attack or overload other systems, or to break into accounts or data that aren't yours.
Don't try to get around the limits of your plan, copy the product, or reverse engineer it.
If you break these rules, or put EventsLake or other customers at risk, we may suspend your account. We tell you why, and give you the chance to fix it unless the risk is urgent.
Plans and payment
Prices and limits are on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew until you cancel. Prices are without VAT.
You can change or cancel your plan in the dashboard. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you paid for. We don't refund periods that have started, unless the law requires it.
We announce price changes at least 30 days in advance. They apply from your next period.
Going over the limits of your plan is shown, never blocked. If it keeps happening, we ask you to move to a plan that fits.
Availability and support
We do our best to keep EventsLake available and your data safe, with backups and monitoring. Sometimes we need maintenance; we plan it outside office hours where we can.
Support is by e-mail. Enterprise customers can agree on response times and availability in their agreement.
Liability
EventsLake is provided as it is. Insights, predictions and recognised companies are estimates that help you decide; they can be wrong, and you stay responsible for what you do with them.
Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect damage, like lost profit or lost business. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them, for example for intent or gross negligence.
Ending
You can stop using EventsLake and close your account at any time. We can end these terms with 30 days' notice, or right away if you seriously break them.
After your account is closed, you can still export your data for 30 days. Then we delete it, including backups within the following 30 days.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. For important changes we let you know by e-mail at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can close your account before that date.
Law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes go to the courts of Ghent, Belgium, unless the law gives you the right to go to the courts where you live.
These terms are also available in Dutch and French. If the versions differ, the English version applies.
