Who we are
This policy explains what personal data EventsLake collects through this website and our product, why, and what your rights are.
What we collect on this website
When you request access or book a demo, we keep what you fill in: your name, work e-mail, company, role, company size and message.
We also keep how you found us (for example the campaign or website that sent you), so we know which channels work.
We use this only to contact you, plan the call and set up your account. We never sell it or share it with others.
Data our customers store in EventsLake
Companies that use EventsLake decide what they store about their own visitors and customers. For that data, they are the controller and we are the processor: we only process it on their instructions, under a data processing agreement.
If you want to know what a company stores about you, please ask that company. We help them answer.
Networks and companies
To show our customers which companies visit their website, and to spot robots and attacks, EventsLake keeps facts about internet networks: a range of addresses (for example 81.82.83.0 to 81.82.83.255), its approximate location, who owns it, and which company is behind it when that is a company network.
We keep this per range of addresses, never per person or per device. It is shared between our customers, so a network only has to be looked up once. Which customers saw a network is never shared.
To learn which company uses a network, we look at hints in our customers' data, such as the domain of a work e-mail address (acme.com) or a company name. We keep only that hint and how often we saw it, never the person. Our team checks and corrects this information. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in recognising companies and protecting our customers against abuse.
Do you run a network and want us to correct or remove what we know about it? E-mail us at the address below.
Protection against abuse
When an address attacks the websites of several of our customers (for example by trying hundreds of pages or passwords), we keep that address, the kind of attack and the dates on a shared list, so our customers can block it. Nothing else about the attack, and never which customers were attacked.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored and processed in the European Union. We only use service providers that follow the GDPR, such as our hosting in the EU and our e-mail provider.
How long we keep it
Waiting list and demo requests: until you ask us to remove them, or at most two years after our last contact. Customer data: as long as the account exists, and deleted after the account is closed.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how we use it. You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority.
Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies: no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to accept. We only remember, in your browser and for your visit, which page you arrived on, so we know where requests come from. It is gone when you close the tab.
